Call me cynical, but the trailer for Lockout looks a lot like a parody of an action movie that would be situated inside some kind of comedy film. How could you NOT think that with delicious dialog like “There’s only one man who can get her out.” “Who?” “Snow.” “He’s the best there is… but he’s a loose cannon.”
Nevermind that is pretty much a straight rip-off of Escape from New York.
Oh, well. I suppose kids today won’t figure that out.
Lockout stars Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, and Guy Pearce. It opens April 20th.
oh my GAWD! That is a total rip off of Escape From New York. Instead of Snake it is Snow. Instead of the President it is the President’s daughter. Instead of… well, everything else is the same.

It does look like a movie that’ll be fun to watch while drunk.
The dude is even doing a Snake Plissken with his lines, that world-weary cynical snarking while the authorities look on in irritation and annoyance. Yah, that’s gonna be one terrible flick. I’m sure I’ll be there, at some point, maybe even against my better judgment. The siren song of crap is irresistable.
I’d say it’s more Escape From LA since he’s trying to save the presidents daughter.
It looks like fun. Guy Pearce usually brings his A game to most of his roles.
