If I were a reasonable man, I would withhold judgement as well. But first impressions count for a lot and I’d say Fox is losing the battle on this one.
Have you seen the official poster that was released this week? Just a bunch of shots of the actors stumbling around in what looks like an Apple store. Considering the time period this movie is set in, the could have done something retro and cool. Instead they just pitch it straight up the middle.

Agreed…but I guess since I adore Fassbender..I can’t even care about the other things…even if I did used to care about X-Men..including the movies…
I mean I even saw Jonah Hex because he was in it [I downloaded it...but still not crazy enough to pay for it].

I hadn’t realized Fassbender was in Jonah Hex.
I think casting Megan Fox pretty much neutralized any good will I had for the film.

I would say getting Matthew Vaughn to direct is a step in the right direction too. He’s proven himself a solid action & effects director, and I want to give him the chance to redeem himself for the third act of his last movie.
All that said though, this looks like a very safe movie, when what made the first two X-Men films work was that they helped redefine what comic book movies could be. Between that and origin story burn-out, I’ll be happy if First Class will be good, but not getting my hopes up.

I thought I was immune to further shock/apall at Fox’s blatent disregard for comic history, and then word got out that Azazel was to be an X-Man. I think the collective forehead slap from fanboys rang round the globe.

Which will suck more? X-Men First Class or Green Lantern? I’m betting X-Men, but only because there are more ways for it to go wrong with more characters to mess up.
