I think the G-man’s got it backwards. The respectful thing to do is to pay for the good movie, then sneak into the bad one (preferably after also watching the good movie).
Now, I don’t mean to be nit-picky (since you’re my competition, Trevor Mueller!), but because my own comic deals a lot with these topics (some more heavy handed than others), I must speak up! Tom’s encouragement for “theater hopping” would, i think, fall more into the jurisdiction of the FBI and/or the MPAA (note those FBI piracy warnings in the beginning of DVDs.
The FCC is the Federal Communications Commission – and deal primarily with, well, federal communications. Today, the most predominate of which is broadcast television.
I posit that Paranormal Activity breaks the norms of horror films and makes a genuinely interesting horror film, which fans and scholars of the genre will appreciate.
People who don’t have a true grasp on the horror genre as a whole shouldn’t be taking potshots at movies they don’t understand.
I’m glad that the reaction to the guest strip has been mostly positive. A lot of the movies listed in panel 2 that I list as “horrible” are a call back to a running gag that I had going in the reviews of those movies, as well as some of my own comics poking fun at them. My comic isn’t about movies specifically, but I do have a background in production and are well versed in what qualifies as a “quality” movie, as opposed to just an “entertaining” one.
Congrats again to Tom and Cami, and I look forward to more Theater Hopper guest strips!

Great comic. I’d say that this is my favorite guest strip that I’ve ever read.
Great guest comic!

That being said – great comic! And now I vanish!
