EEEEE-VAAHH

Yesterday afternoon it was cold and crummy outside and everyone in the house was asleep taking an afternoon nap.

I, on the other hand, am incapable of sleep. So I decided to whip up a quick t-shirt design and wanted to get your thoughts on it. You probably recognize the logo.

Eve plant logo, Wall-E

Eve plant logo, Wall-E, t-shirt, small, white

Eve plant logo, Wall-E, t-shirt, small, black

Eve plant logo, Wall-E, t-shirt, large, white

Eve plant logo, Wall-E, t-shirt, large, black

It’s the logo that appears on Eve’s chest when she acquires the plant in Wall-E.

I made it for a couple of reasons. One, because I just like the design. It’s simple and effective. Two, because I looked everywhere online for a similar shirt and couldn’t find one. So I thought, “I should make one for myself. If there’s enough interest, I’ll sell them on the site.”

So what do you think? Do I have any kindred spirits out there? Do you like the larger design that puts the logo in the center of the chest or the smaller design that is off-center and placed on the chest similar to where it was on Eve? What about shirt color?

White like Eve or black (because I know that black is the best-selling t-shirt color on the planet)?

Leave your me your feedback! I’m curious to find out what you think!

These are awesome– I have been looking for something like this for a long time. I will definitely get one!

The biggest problem I had with Watchmen was that the characters weren’t full of emotion and characterization as they were in the comic. Ozymandias was always portrayed as the nicest guy ever, not sinister as Matthew Goode characterized him. At the end he was smug, whilst in the comic he cheered, and cried over his success, since he truly believed what he did was right. Rorschach was done great, his voice raspy, but still well enough to understand. Reminded me how Alan Moore portrayed him. I did not like, however, how he always talked in that voice. In the comic, his speech bubble would change as he was Rorschach, but as the “The End is Nigh” guy, he talked normally. Also, the skirmishes that became full scenes were rather disappointing. In my eyes, Zack Snyder stayed true to the book itself, but not the heart and soul of the book.

Only twice have I ever bought a T-shirt from a web site such as yours. Make this design a reality, though, and I may be well tempted to dip into my wallet again. Definitely a cool idea.

I forgot it was WALL-E when i first looked at it and now I know I still like it. And black is best (of course). I like the one on the breast patch the best too.

I’ve had some people tell me this is a cease and desist letter waiting to happen. Is it worth the risk? I don’t know. I guess I don’t know what the rules are about this kind of reproduction, but it might be best to err on the side of caution…

I liked Watchmen. Jackie Earle Haley looked almost identical to Walter Kovacs/Rorschach as I remember him in the comic.
As for the shirt, while I do think the black is good, the big logo in the middle of the white shirt looks great. Now if only you could get it to glow, it’d truly feel as if you were a sexy female robot…wait a minute

    Very cool. I’d get one.

I would definitely go for the white shirt with the centered logo. That makes it the most recognizable.

Disney has sued a daycare for painting Mickey Mouse on their wall without authorization. A DAYCARE. Three of them, actually.

It’s an old set of lawsuits, but Disney is famous for their fierce legal team, protecting their property. I would fear the risk, honestly, if it’s the same logo or even a clear derivative work (which, well, this post confirms that it is).

Yeah, I’m not going through with this. I knew it was sketchy territory to begin with, but I’ve had a lot of people comment that Disney’s legal team doesn’t mess around. It’s not worth it.

Still, I wish SOMEONE would produce this design on a shirt because I still really want it!

Make it and I promise you I’ll buy it for my girlfriend. she loves that movie.

Well, it looks like people have already beaten me to it and you made your decision, Tom… But I agree – much as it’s a cool design, it’s also definitely a C&D waiting to happen, and rightly so – it’s Disney’s IP, you aren’t allowed to make money off it.

  13. WeeGoblin

Do it anyway. I won’t tell on you.

Also it would be cool if it glowed in the dark!

I would totally buy one for my gf if they came in baby tee’s

  15. Liz

Saaad face. Boo Disney and their legal team. If you find that this shirt does actually exist somewhere, I would be ever so grateful if you would let us know?

It’s Pixar actually, and they’re friendly. :) Try contacting them via email, and they might approve!

  18. Tom

You really think Pixar would sign off on that? Do you know a specific e-mail address I can try?
