Gotta agree, Vegemite paint job was the stand out term.

  2. matty_k

This is great. I’m going to start using some of those when ever possible. Except for Kangaroo Hijacked.

I also thought “Vegemite paint job” was hilarious, but given the colour the stuff is, also kind of icky šŸ™‚ (and yes, I’m an Aussie, and yes I eat it from time to time)

Thor was a mediocre film that by all means is worth seeing for entertainment, but beyond that, it’s nothing inspiring. I mean, I laughed and Asgardwas freaking amazing, but there was no sense of wonder or magic. Thor is a GOD and yet when he’s on Earth creating an epic storm I’m felt so unimpressed I turned to my friend and went “that’s the climax?!”Superman’s first flight with Lois Lane is a magical cinematic experience. Spider-Man figuring out how to swing from skyscraper to skyscraper was much the same, in it’s own way. Thor regaining his powers was “well it’s about time. Now can we go back to Asgard?”

Yet I still feel it’s worth viewing if you like superhero movies. Portman is pretty good in it too.

Ugggh. That kind of sounds like a bummer.

Thor sounds like a set-up for The Avengers in the same way that Iron Man 2 was a set-up for The Avengers.

I guess what I’m saying is that The Avengers better be frickin’ amazing.

“The Old Vegemite Paint Job” sounds like a sex act.

    Dingofying. Epic.

I saw Thor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s nothing amazing, but everyone does a great job in their parts (Chris Hemsworth in particular surprised me, since all I knew him from was Star Trek. He was great in his very important three minutes, but still). There’s humor and incredible action scenes, and I really liked it. Set up to the Avengers? Yeah. Worth the price of a movie ticket? HELL YEAH.

Besides, the movie has frakking Anthony Hopkins as Odin. ANTHONY HOPKINS.

You DO know Mel Gibson’s actually American, right?

I do. But does Jared? Remember, he thought he played Jesus.

      (that was a close one)

As an Aussie, while I think the various Ozphobic terminology was genius, I have to say a few Aussies taking hero roles is hardly an invasion. Besides, if the Americans couldn’t find someone suitably man-tastic for the role of Thor, that’s really more a reflection on the diminishment of the Amercan physique. šŸ˜›

As for the film, I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was great fun. Not exactly Shakespeare, but a genuinely fun romp. Plus, as a comic book nerd, I enjoyed all the little references.

      Ooo! Them’s fightin’ words!

Alright, I’ll see your pudgy American leading man and raise you one Russell Crowe.

Yeah, I know he’s a kiwi, but I’ll take what I can get!

Yeah, Russ is a bit of a tub o’ lard these days, plus he’s a tool. But he hasn’t done the super hero thing, so he doesn’t count.

So, as a return shot, I offer 5 words: Ben Frickin’ Affleck as Daredevil.

        ‘Nuff said. šŸ˜‰

Thor was about as good as a movie about interdimensional, space fairies can be.

Aussie washing? *lol* Surprised he’s also not complaining about the fact that Batman’s played by a Welshman while Superman and Spider-man are played by Brits.

I for one loved Thor. I thought Chris Helmsworth played him perfectly and the Warriors 3 were also done quite well. There was plenty of action mixed with the right amount of humour. I also just loved Stan Lee’s scene.

Then final two in the last panel are my favorite.
