TagBlitz

Hey, guys. I want to try something really quick. I found this site called TagBlitz. It’s basically a promotion tool for web sites that gathers up links to all the social networking sites out there. I present the Tag Blitz link to you and then you go and catologue Theater Hopper among as many of the social networking sites out there as you please. You don’t have to be a member of TagBlitz or sign up for anything to participate. It’s free to use. But some of the social networking sites in it’s roster require you to have accounts with them before you can tag Theater Hopper in their system. Sites like Technorati, Del.icio.us and Furl are all in the mix.

Anyway, give it a try and see if you can help spread the word about Theater Hopper. I want to give this service a dry run to see how effective it is.

TIME SINK

Hey, guys. I was wondering if everyone who reads this could do me a quick favor.

My good friend (an Theater Hopper site administrator) Brian Arnold is running a tiny experiment gathering stats on different internet time sinks. You know what I’m talking about – Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

Anyway, Brian’s experiment is very easy to participate in. Just fill out a tiny form and you’re set! Please trust that he’s not gathering any personal information. Like I said, it’s only an experiment.

UNLOCK’D

I was reading a tweet from Joel Watson – creator of HijiNKS Ensue – and he was talking about how he enjoyed watching new readers plow through the archives, commenting in reverse as they go.

It got me thinking about how that’s not something you can do on Theater Hopper because, in a fit of paranoia, I instructed WordPress to shut off the commenting feature after 14 days. I guess I don’t remember what I was afraid of. Probably spammers. But truth be told, we haven’t had a problem with spammers in months (knock on wood). So I decided it was time to let go of the leash.

Starting today, anyone can comment on any comic in the archive. That might not appealing to those of you who have been with the site for a while. But who knows?

I guess I’d rather leave the option open for conversation rather than put a cap on it before it can start.

Just thought I would let you know!
