I’m thinking Scott Pilgrim is going to find a huge following on DVD/BluRay. I didn’t get to see it until just this past weekend, and while the theater wasn’t full, there were still quite a few people in it. I loved it. There’s no reason Brian Lee O’Malley shouldn’t be proud of the movie.
I’m trying to create a Rocky Horror Picture Show thing for Scott Pilgrim. So far I have, put on a nerdy shirt that you own, and whenever someone says ex-boyfriends you say “Evil Exes”. I’m working on it. I just gotta go see it a bunch more times.

Bryan Lee O’Malley is probably actually one of the biggest WINNERS in all of this since Scott Pilgrim vol. 1-6 are still (I think) near the top of the Amazon sales charts.
The real losers are Universal, Michael Cera (guess it’s time for that Arrested Development movie!) and Edgar Wright (though last week’s $10M opening is the biggest in his career which is quite sad).
Good call.
If anyone is going to take this hit, it’s Cera. Dude just can’t open a movie.
It’s depressing to see Scott fall like that, but also not too surprising. As people have said, it should do just fine on DVD, and Edgar Wright shouldn’t be too affected (it’s not like he was making big money makers before. Just really phenomenal movies). Sad to see fun movies get so little attention (having not seen Expendables yet, I cannot comment on its funness). As for the new releases, Piranha was amazingly enjoyable (well, if you’re into super-gore and a metric ton of exposed breasts), so its too bad its not doing a little better.

Dude: I saw “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and it was like the best movie I’ve ever seen. It sucks that it’s gone so low on the box office charts. Oh well. I want to see “The Expendables”, but will wait for dvd.
I have some friends who really want to see Vampires Suck. I also have some friends who genuinely like Twilight. I need new friends.
Tom, totally off topic here, but I think you should see this. It’ll feed your Iron Man fantasies like nothing I can think of (outside a working Mark 6 ^_^).
