I’ll be an ember! I love this comic! It’s one of the things that keeps my spirits up on Mondays! My thought process on Sunday nights is usually something like “Ugh no more weekend. Work tomorrow. Ooh, new comics!” I am all for you making it to ten years!

Yeah, the whole ‘fate is inevitable’ plot is the reason why I’m not going to see it. I can’t help it, after years in the fantasy and sci-fi genre that trope just makes me itch.

Especially since you know it’s going to be all ‘Diss fate for love! Human beings are in control, and it all works for the best in one way or the other!’ It makes my eyes roll a bit, because human beings are known (as my psychologist friend states) for being horribly bad at judging what we need and what actually makes us happy.

Of course, I guess it comes down to whether the Bureau is made up of humans or not. Humans, and the plot shifts to a commentary on whether government or other human beings should be in control of another’s fate, even if they ‘know better’. Non-human, and you are getting into god/gods/fate/etc themes which is what makes me break out in hives.

Princess Tutu Abridged compared Black Swan to Princess Tutu.
So of course I wonder if they will do the same with this movie.

I plan to see Adjustment Bureau this weekend. I’ve heard some good things. Plus I’ll be going with a gal pal… cuz there’s some romance BS in there for her. So it’s a win-win situation, I think.

And in other news… yay I’m all caught up with TheaterHopper comics! One of (if not THE) best movie-geek-oriented comics on the interwebs!

I saw ya’ kind of bobbin’ and weaving through the archived comics through your comments.

Glad you’re all caught up! Thanks for the compliment!

I haven’t seen it yet. I think I learned a lot more about it from this comic and the comments than the trailer, though. I mean, the only thing I could think when I first heard of this movie (from the trailer… a few weeks ago…) was that it looks very similar to Dark City. Anyone else get that impression?
